Mumbai’s relentless monsoon has once again brought waterlogging across several parts of the city, and even Amitabh Bachchan’s iconic residence, Jalsa, has not remained untouched. A viral video recently showed rainwater entering the veteran actor’s bungalow after heavy showers. While Amitabh chose not to comment on the circulating clip, he acknowledged the difficult weather conditions in his latest Sunday blog and thanked fans who continued to gather outside his home for the weekly darshan.
Fans turn up despite heavy showers
As part of his customary Sunday interaction, Amitabh Bachchan shared photographs from outside Jalsa on his Tumblr blog and expressed gratitude to admirers who made their way through the rain to meet him.“A wave, folded palms .. a signing of autographs .. and they endure and leave .. my respect as always.” The actor admitted he was touched by the unwavering dedication of his fans, regardless of the weather.“They come despite the weather – rain, shine, winter .. and the same enthusiasm .. so deeply moving for me.”
Amitabh urges everyone to stay safe
Reflecting on Mumbai’s ongoing monsoon spell, Amitabh noted that the rains had continued unabated, leading to flooding in several places while also replenishing water reservoirs. “The rains do not abate .. flooding continues .. yes , Monsoon delayed , and now the water resources – the surrounding Lakes filling up .. some difficulty to dwellers .. farming .. but this too shall pass.”He concluded his message with a word of caution, encouraging everyone to prioritise their safety during the ongoing downpour. “Be well all .. be safe .. venture out only if absolutely urgent .. as in Mumbai .. but in general too .. all of you are too precious.”
Water enters Jalsa compound amid Mumbai flooding
A video that recently surfaced online captured rainwater accumulating outside Jalsa before eventually flowing into the compound as nearby drainage systems struggled to cope with the intense rainfall. The visuals quickly gained traction on social media, with many users pointing out that the incident highlighted the recurring flooding issues Mumbai faces during every monsoon season.The city has witnessed widespread waterlogging, traffic disruptions and slow-moving daily life over the past few days as continuous rainfall battered several neighbourhoods. Civic authorities have been working to clear blocked drains and ease flooding, while forecasts indicate that more rain is likely.
Amitabh Bachchan’s upcoming projects
On the professional front, Amitabh Bachchan is set to reprise his role in the sequel to Nag Ashwin’s blockbuster sci-fi epic ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. The upcoming film will once again feature Prabhas and Kamal Haasan in pivotal roles. While the first instalment also starred Deepika Padukone, reports suggest she will not be returning for the sequel.
