Ahead Of Godavari Pushkaralu, Pawan Kalyan sanctions Rs 100 crore for pilgrim infrastructure

RAJAHMUNDRY: Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan has sanctioned Rs 100 crore through the Panchayat Raj and Rural Water Supply (RWS) department for development works across seven constituencies in three districts ahead of the Godavari Pushkaralu.The allocation, made under the theme “Swachh Godavari – Pavitra Pushkaralu” (Clean Godavari – Sacred Pushkaralu), is in addition to the Rs 100 crore previously sanctioned through the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB).Of the latest allocation, Rs 90 crore will be used for 111 projects, including the construction of around 141km of cement concrete (CC) and bituminous (BT) roads. The remaining Rs 10 crore will be spent on providing safe drinking water to pilgrims.The road works will cover routes connecting villages to Pushkar ghats in Razole, P Gannavaram, Ramachandrapuram, Rampachodavaram, Achanta, Narsapuram and Palakollu constituencies. Internal village roads will also be upgraded where required.The APPCB’s Rs 100 crore allocation will be utilised based on proposals submitted by the respective districts for development works across Polavaram, East Godavari, West Godavari, Eluru and Dr B R Ambedkar Konaseema districts.The government said the works are aimed at ensuring cleaner, better-connected and pilgrim-friendly facilities across villages along the Godavari basin during the Pushkaralu.
