Bhopal: A 20-year-old man allegedly shot himself dead with a countrymade pistol in Morena’s Porsa town on Friday, moments after posting an Instagram video attributing his fate to drug addiction and accusing a local medical store of selling needles and syringes to push drugs.Police sealed the medical store named in the video and informed the Health department, which will examine its records and medicine stock.The deceased, Sarvesh Rathore of Gandhi Nagar, allegedly shot himself in the chest outside his house around 1 pm, the police said, adding that he died at the scene.In the video recorded before his death, Sarvesh said he had been addicted to intoxicating injections for four years and had spent Rs 10-12 lakh on drugs.He said the addiction severely affected his mental health, adding that he was unable to quit despite repeated attempts. The youth alleged further that he had been procuring the injections from Agarwal Medical Store on Ater Road, claiming several other youths in Porsa were also addicted.He closed his post with an appeal to the govt and authorities concerned to act against the store and prevent others from suffering his fate.As the video went viral, the police sealed the medical store and launched an investigation. The Health dept, which is also seized of the matter, will check if any controlled drugs were being sold illegally at the store.A post-mortem was conducted on the 20-year-old and a case of unnatural death registered, the police said, adding that his video was seized as evidence and further legal action will be based on the post-mortem report and other material collected during the investigation.
