Hazaribag: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Hazaribag, on Wednesday arrested three alleged land sellers as part of its continuing crackdown on illegal acquisition and sale of forest land, govt land and Gairmazarua Khas jungle land.The accused, identified as Vishweshwar Prajapati, 68, Shankar Prajapati, 62, and Ramgati Gupta alias Ramgati Prasad, 61, were arrested from Nayakhap Tola, Mukundganj, under Muffasil police station area and are being sent to judicial custody.According to an ACB communique, Hazaribag police registered on Sept 25, 2025, against the then circle officer, circle inspector, revenue sub-inspector and local land mafias for fraudulently acquiring and selling forest and govt land and getting mutations done. The case invokes Sections 13(2) read with 13(1)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act and IPC Sections 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120B. Officials, mafias, buyers and sellers had earlier been jailed in the case, the release said Wednesday.
