Gujarati cinema is gearing up for the release of ‘Amba’, an upcoming film directed by Vijaygiri Bava and headlined by Reeva Rachh. Scheduled to arrive in theatres in December 2026, the film has now unveiled its first song, the devotional Garba track ‘Amba Ramva Aave’. Singer Vrattini Purohit, who has lent her voice to the song, opened up exclusively about the track and her special reunion with the team.

Speaking exclusively to ETimes, Vrattini Purohit described singing Amba Ramva Aave as a particularly meaningful experience. The singer shares a long-standing association with the team behind Amba, having made her playback singing debut with a Garba song from their first film.Her debut playback track was Me To Suraj Ne Ropyo Chhe Angane. Returning to the same creative team years later, and once again recording a Garba song, has given the latest project an added emotional significance for her.“It has been a beautiful and deeply fulfilling experience to sing this Garbo. My journey with this team began with their first film and my first song as a playback singer which was also a Garbo ‘Me To Suraj Ne Ropyo Chhe Angane’,” Vrattini said.She added, “To reunite with the same team in 2026, once again through a Garbo, feels incredibly special. ‘Amba Ramva Aave’ blends devotion with the festive spirit of Garba
Amba Ramva Aave brings together devotional music and the celebratory energy traditionally associated with Garba. Kedar and Bhargav have composed the track, while Milind Gadhvi has penned the lyrics. Arsh Tanna and Samir Tanna have choreographed the song. The song features Reeva Rachh along with special appearances by Gujarati actors Monal Gajjar, Netri Trivedi and Shraddha Dangar. Veteran actors Firoz Irani and Swati Dave are also seen in the song. One of the more distinctive visual elements in the song is a lion wearing a traditional turban, bringing the imagery of Gir and Gujarat’s cultural identity into the Garba setting. The visual motif also ties the song to the central theme of Amba, which revolves around the relationship between humans and lions.
What is Vijaygiri Bawa’s ‘Amba’ about?
Directed by Vijaygiri Bawa, ‘Amba’ is set against the backdrop of Gujarat’s Gir region and explores an unusual bond between humans and lions, locally referred to as savaj. The film focuses on themes of friendship, coexistence and the emotional relationship between people and wildlife. The film’s announcement described it as a story of “friendship and co-existence”, with the relationship between the people of Gir and the Asiatic lion forming the emotional core of the narrative. Bava has written the film with Raam Mori, with Mori also credited for the dialogues. Bhoomi Nathwani is the producer, while Kedar and Bhargav have composed the music and background score.
Reeva Rachh leads the Gujarati film alongside an ensemble cast
Reeva Rachh plays the titular role in Amba. She is joined by Darshan Pandya, Jagjeetsinh Vadher, Alessandra Whelan, Gaurang Anand, Firoz Irani, Swati Dave and Riddhi Dangar. The film’s setting is central to its storytelling, with Gir’s landscape and its association with the Asiatic lion forming an important part of the cinematic world. Amba is currently scheduled for a theatrical release in December 2026.
