Fazilka: Fazilka police apprehended three youths and recovered two Glock pistols, four live rounds, and 50 grams of heroin on Friday along the Fazilka-Ferozepur Road.Fazilka senior superintendent of police (SSP) Gagan Ajit Singh stated that on Sept 11, a patrolling team led by assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Ramesh Kumar spotted three men standing near a Hero Splendor motorcycle near a fuel station. “On seeing the police party, they attempted to start the motorcycle and flee. However, the police apprehended them and during search, two Glock pistols (along with magazines), four rounds, and 50 grams of heroin were recovered from their possession,” the SSP said.The arrested individuals have been identified as Ravinder Singh alias Ravi, a resident of Machhiwara in Ferozepur district, alongside Ranjit Singh alias Jeeta and Nishan Singh alias Dhamu, both residents of Bare Ke village in Ferozepur district.Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused had procured the illegal weapons from Pakistan via a drone drop on Sept 4. Police have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and the Arms Act at the Fazilka Sadar police station. Investigators are probing network links to trace other local handlers and foreign-based operatives involved in the cross-border smuggling network.
