If you love the traditional look, Rajasthani mehendi is hard to go wrong with. The designs are usually packed with little details, from paisleys and peacocks to flowers, leaves and tiny patterns that fill the spaces between them.
There’s something lovely about looking at a detailed mehendi design and noticing a new pattern every time. You can have it applied across both palms and the backs of your hands, or keep it a little lighter if you don’t want too much coverage.
This style looks especially good with a red or maroon suit, a traditional saree or a heavily embroidered lehenga. Add a stack of bangles and your favourite rings, and your festive look is pretty much sorted.
If you want the patterns to stand out, ask your artist to leave a little space between some of the motifs. It gives the design a clearer finish without taking away from its traditional feel.
