Noida: A 12-year-old boy, a Class 8 student, was allegedly found hanging inside his room at his home in Habibpur village under the Ecotech 3 police station area on Wednesday. Police said no suicide note was recovered from the spot and the exact circumstances leading to the boy’s death are yet to be ascertained.The deceased was a resident of Habibpur village. According to police, information about the incident was received late Wednesday night, following which a team from the Ecotech 3 police station reached the boy’s house.“When we reached the spot, the boy was found hanging inside a room. The door had been opened by his family members,” a police officer said.Police said the boy’s family members were occupied with their household work when they later went to check on him and found him hanging with a scarf. They immediately informed the police about the incident.According to the police, no suicide note or other material indicating the reason for the boy’s death was found at the spot. Family members also did not immediately report anything unusual that could have led to the incident.However, the family expressed suspicion of foul play and requested further examination to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the death. Following this, the boy’s body was sent for a post-mortem examination Thursday.“His viscera has been preserved for forensic examination to ascertain the reason behind the death. Further investigation is underway,” police said in a statement.Police said they were also recording statements of the family members. “No case has been registered so far. The reason behind the extreme step will be ascertained after recording the statements of the family members and examining the available evidence,” police said.The boy’s death has left his family and residents of Habibpur village shocked.
