Panchkula: Two motorcycle riders were killed after an allegedly speeding SUV rammed into their bike in Pinjore late Saturday night. The SUV driver fled the spot after the accident, and police have registered a case.The deceased were identified as Jitender (22), a resident of Abdulapur, Pinjore, and Mukesh (32) of Ratpur Colony. The two, who were relatives, were returning home after refuelling their motorcycle when the accident took place.According to police, the impact of the collision was severe, throwing both riders onto the road and leaving them critically injured. Passers-by alerted the police, who rushed the victims to the Civil Hospital in Sector 6. However, doctors declared both of them dead on arrival.Jitender worked as a tailor and is survived by his wife and two children. Mukesh was a mason and is survived by his wife and three children. After the postmortem examination on Sunday, the bodies were handed over to the families.Police said efforts are underway to identify the SUV and its driver. Investigators have begun examining CCTV footage from the accident site and nearby areas to trace the vehicle involved.
