HARIDWAR: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Friday reached out to actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut, saying he was sending her sweets and a gift on Raksha Bandhan and that all differences between them had been put aside.Speaking in Haridwar, Ramdev said there should be no hatred or hostility in the country and that disputes should be resolved through dialogue.“I am sending this gift and these sweets to our sister, Kangana Ranaut, by post. There should be no hatred in the country for any reason, and there should be no hostility towards one another. That is why we have completely given up all animosity,” he said.Ramdev added that he would also call Kangana personally and reiterated that differences should be settled through conversation rather than confrontation.
Kangana responded warmly to the gesture, saying festivals were meant to forgive and forget past differences.“Tyohar ka din hota hai sab bhool chook maaf karne ke liye hai, mere Bhai Baba Ram Dev ji ne bahut achcha kaha ki vivaad nahi, samvaad hona chahiye,” she said.Accepting the sweets and gift, Kangana added, “Aaj Rakshabandhan ke din main unki mithai aur bade bhai ka prem dono swikaar karti hoon. Bahut dhanyawad, Ishwar. Aapko lambi aayu de.”The exchange marks a sharp change in tone after the two had traded barbs publicly earlier this month.The dispute began after Kangana described some young protesters at a Jantar Mantar demonstration as “generation gutter”. Her remarks drew criticism from several public figures, including Ramdev, who questioned her comments and referred to her past while condemning her description of the youth.Kangana hit back on social media, telling Ramdev not to “daydream” about her youth or bedroom and saying he should not give her lessons about character. She also referred to the Supreme Court’s 2024 proceedings involving Patanjali Ayurved’s misleading advertisements.Ramdev subsequently declined to prolong the dispute, saying he did not want to add fuel to the controversy and would not comment on “shallow or narrow-minded people”.However, the two now appear to have put the public spat behind them, with Ramdev’s Raksha Bandhan gesture and Kangana’s response signaling a reconciliation.
