Patna: In a significant step for female education and leadership, CM Samrat Choudhary on Thursday announced the establishment of a dedicated Women’s University in Bihar.Making the announcement on X, the CM specified the upcoming institution would be entirely managed by women, spanning all administrative and academic roles, from professors to the vice-chancellor.“A ‘Women’s University’ will be established for the sisters of Bihar, where our daughters will receive higher education, and in the university, only women will take on responsibilities – from professors to vice-chancellor and all positions. This university will give new skies to the dreams of Bihar’s daughters, where leadership will be promoted along with education, confidence along with skills and self-reliance along with knowledge,” Choudhary wrote in the post.This landmark initiative marks the fifth state-run university announced by Choudhary since assuming office, underlining a rapid expansion of specialised higher education infrastructure across Bihar.The announcement builds upon a string of four other high-profile specialised universities announced by the CM in the recent past.The first specialised university announced by Choudhary is the proposed ‘University of Physics and Sciences’. Planned to be set up inside the campus of Patna Science College, the institution aims to revive the state’s legacy in pure sciences. Govt plans to build modern laboratories and advanced research centres to turn it into a national scientific hub.Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Computer Science University is planned to be established in Bhagalpur. Aimed at transforming Bihar into an emerging technology hub, this specialised campus will focus on high-tech education, cutting-edge software research and tech-driven public governance tools, an official said on Thursday.Architecture and Civil Engineering University is to be established inside the campus of Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology (MIT) in Muzaffarpur. This technical university would be designed as a centre of excellence to boost engineering research and create specialised technical employment opportunities for youth, officials said.Rashtrakavi Ramdhari Singh ‘Dinkar’ University, to be set up in Begusarai, was announced during the launch of 551 smart-classroom-equipped Model Schools. The proposed university would honour the rich literary legacy of the iconic national poet while expanding higher education and research infrastructure in Begusarai district.
