Trichy: A minor fire erupted at Hotel Tamil Nadu, run by the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC), near Central bus stand in Trichy, on Friday. The blaze destroyed papers, documents and electronic gadgets in the manager’s office.The fire was first noticed in the manager’s office at around 4.15am. Fire and rescue services personnel at the Cantonment station were alerted approximately 15 minutes later, at 4.30am.A seven-member fire brigade arrived at the scene within minutes aboard a water tender truck. They entered the premises and began extinguishing the flames at the office. The manager reached the spot shortly afterwards, sources said.Assistant district fire officer A Leo Joseph supervised the firefighting operations. By the time firefighters had put out the blaze, important records and documents in the office had already been destroyed.
