Suriya and Jyotika talk about healthy living

While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter India, Jyotika shared that she always carries gloves, a water bottle and a deodorant spray in her gym bag. Suriya added that his wife also encouraged him to always carry a water bottle and jogging shoes because he enjoys walking and jogging. He also keeps his supplements with him.Jyotika also shared that she is a morning person and starts her day by eating an apple before going to the gym. She focuses on weightlifting and strength training and works out four to five times a week.

Suriya focuses on flexibility and mobility

Suriya said he now prefers functional strength training and pull-ups. Since he suffered a back injury in the past, he avoids heavy weightlifting and powerlifting. Instead, he works on improving his flexibility and overall mobility.Talking about fitness, Suriya said, “Every decade, fitness means something different. In your 20s, it’s about biceps and a good T-shirt body. Now, for me, it’s about mobility. It’s not about the muscles you show off any more; it’s about function.”Jyotika said her fitness trainer Mahesh Ghanekar changed the way she looked at exercise. She recalled that he told her, “Get stronger, the rest follows.” She added that strength training has become a big part of her life and believes women should focus on building strength after the age of 40.

Suriya talks about the advice he received from Mammootty

Suriya revealed that Malayalam superstar Mammootty gave him valuable advice about healthy eating. He remembered Mammootty saying, “Eat all that I like, but not in the amount that I would like.” He also advised Suriya never to compromise on eight to nine hours of sleep.Suriya said health is not just about building muscles but about living a balanced life. He said, “Sleep, food, stress, work, ambition — it all needs balance. I’m still working on getting there myself.”He also shared the importance of Vitamin D, Vitamin B12 and other basic supplements. He added that women should strengthen their muscles early in life, especially after the age of 40, to avoid future knee problems.
