Nitya, Nakul emerge fastest sprinters
Podium finishers if the U-18 100m race at the Nagpur District junior athletics meet

Nagpur: Nitya Sharma of Nav Maharashtra Krida Mandal and Nakul Pundkar from The Sprint Hub emerged as the fastest sprinters by winning the 100-metre race in the Nagpur District Junior Athletics championship on Wednesday.In the Day 2 action at the Nagpur University track, Nitya clocked 13.01 seconds to clinch the U-20 girls’ race while Sanyogita Misar of Shri Binzani City Mahavidyalaya finished second with a timing of 13.67 seconds while Shreya Bangade (16.41s) from Kelvad’s Madhav Sporting finished third.In the U-20 100-metre boys’ category, Nakul finished on top of the podium with a timing of 11.07 seconds. He was followed by Neville Krishnan (11.21s) of Future Athletics Sports Academy and Pranav Phuke (11.55s) from Aakar Academy on the podium.In the U-18 girls’ category, Kashti Meshram finished first, while Janmesh Shirsat took the gold medal in the boys’ section. The 100-metre hurdles race was won by Sanyogita Misar.In the U-18 boys’ 100-metre race, Janmesh from Khel Foundation clocked 11.45 seconds to clinch gold while his clubmate Rishabh Mankar (11.54s) came second. Amit Sharma of Mission Lakshya took third place with a timing of 11.58 seconds. In the girls’ category, Kashti of Nav Maharashtra Krida Mandal won gold when she finished the race in 13.65 seconds.
