Garena brings Palworld to mobile as an MMORPG; here's what Palworld Online offers

Garena is bringing Palworld to mobile. The Singapore-based game publisher has announced Palworld Online, a licensed MMORPG based on Pocketpair’s creature-collecting survival game. Developed and published by Garena under an official licence from Japanese developer Pocketpair, the game introduces a new story, an interconnected open world and multiplayer-focused gameplay designed specifically for smartphones.Announcing the title, Garena President Terry Zhao said, “Palworld is a widely recognized IP, and we see an opportunity to bring the essence of the PC title to mobile in a way that encourages players to connect and venture together.” He added, “Working closely with Pocketpair, we are focused on preserving the depth, immersion, and freedom that define Palworld, while thoughtfully optimising the experience for mobile play. What Palworld Online will offer playersUnlike the original PC title, Palworld Online is built around a massively multiplayer online (MMO) experience. Players will explore a seamless shared world alongside creatures known as “Pals,” capture and raise them, uncover story content and unlock new regions across the map.Garena said the mobile game includes an original narrative, along with new side stories created exclusively for Palworld Online, expanding the game’s universe beyond the PC version. The game also supports cooperative progression, allowing players to meet others in the shared world, form groups, build settlements and participate in both player-versus-environment (PvE) and player-versus-player (PvP) activities. Players can also visit each other’s bases, battle open-world bosses and search for rare Pals together.Survival, crafting and mobile controlsGarena has retained the survival and crafting mechanics from the original game while adapting them for multiplayer play. Players can establish shared bases, construct buildings, assign Pals to automate production, defend settlements, and assist with resource management. The game has also been optimised for smartphones with a touch-friendly interface and optional one-tap controls intended to simplify construction, base management and Pal deployment across a range of mobile devices.Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe said, “Garena has extensive experience in global publishing, localisation, and live operations for mobile games.” He added, “We are pleased to work with Garena on the licensed development of Palworld Online and look forward to seeing a new Palworld experience brought to players worldwide.”Garena said Palworld Online is scheduled to launch in 2026. The company has not yet announced a release date and said additional details will be shared later.
