Nashik: Four minors were booked on Friday on charge of attempted culpable homicide after a dispute between two students over a seat at a private coaching class escalated into a violent assault near a school in the Vise Mala area on July 29.The Sarkarwada police said the dispute began on July 28 during a coaching class in Govind Nagar. Following the disagreement, both sides decided to meet near the school to resolve the issue.“Around 3.15pm on July 29, four minors arrived at the spot on two motorcycles. Although the meeting initially appeared to be aimed at settling the matter, it soon turned violent. The accused allegedly abused the victim and his three friends before assaulting them with kicks and punches. They also hurled stones and cement blocks picked up from the roadside,” an officer said.The police said during the attack, one of the accused allegedly pulled out a chopper hidden in his waistband and swung it at a minor, who managed to move away in time, narrowly avoiding serious injuries. The incident sparked panic among bystanders, following which the attackers fled the scene on their motorcycles.Based on a complaint, the police registered an FIR under sections 110 (attempt to commit culpable homicide), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) and other relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with sections of the Arms Act.Sub-inspector Vishal Jadhav said no suspect had been detained in connection with the case so far.
