Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Beed District Planning and Development Committee (DPDC) on Friday approved Rs 623-crore annual plan for 2026-27, with deputy CM and guardian minister Sunetra Pawar directing officials to ensure transparent spending, timely execution of projects and a stronger focus on rural infrastructure, healthcare and sports development.Pawar chaired the meeting and funds would not be a constraint for Beed’s growth and that every rupee should translate into visible public benefit. She told departments not to divide works into smaller proposals, ruled out approval for projects below Rs 15 lakh and emphasised strict adherence to timelines, quality standards and financial discipline.Among the major approvals were Rs 5.27 crore for construction of artificial insemination centre buildings, Rs 2.99 crore for a water supply scheme at the Sakud livestock breeding farm and Rs 4.89 crore for the construction and repair of 18 veterinary hospitals. Special grants were also sanctioned for the district deputy commissioner of animal husbandry and zilla parishad.The committee earmarked Rs 37.53 crore for civic amenities in gram panchayats and also approved Rs 12 crore for non-conventional energy projects in 61 govt offices and Rs 2 crore towards construction of the Beed district library building.Under the Harit Beed campaign, the district has set a target of planting 65.49 lakh saplings after completing plantation activities across 475.4 hectares in 2025-26. An additional 263.3 hectares have been identified for afforestation.Earlier in the day, Pawar inaugurated a fully equipped cardiac ambulance donated by NGO Doctors For You at the district hospital. She also laid the foundation stone for conservation and infrastructure works at the 12th-century Kankaleshwar Temple.
