Hosapete (Vijayanagara): Upa Lokayukta Justice B Veerappa conducted surprise inspections at the APMC yard and the KSRTC bus stand in Hosapete on Saturday, pulling up officials over alleged administrative lapses, inadequate public amenities and non-compliance with govt norms.During an early morning visit to the APMC yard, Justice Veerappa reprimanded an official for reporting to duty in jeans and questioned whether he was aware of the dress code prescribed for govt employees.The Upa Lokayukta also reviewed complaints related to alleged commission practices, irregularities in the weighing of agricultural produce and other issues affecting farmers. Expressing dissatisfaction over the lack of basic facilities at the market yard, he directed officials to improve infrastructure and address the shortcomings without delay.

Later, he visited the KSRTC bus stand and reviewed the cleanliness and overall maintenance of the premises. Interacting with students, he sought feedback on their difficulties and instructed authorities to ensure timely bus services to avoid inconvenience.Justice Veerappa further inspected the luggage room and bakeries operating within the bus stand premises. He examined the quality of food products and checked the expiry dates of packaged drinking water and other items being sold at the outlets.Lokayukta SP Vasudev, secretary Ravindra, assistant commissioner Vivekananda, tahsildar MM Shruti, Urban Development Cell project director Manohar, Lokayukta police personnel and officials from various departments accompanied him during the inspection.
