Chennai: Ubifly Technologies (The ePlane Company) and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise have signed an MoU to bring electric air ambulances and medical delivery drones into India’s emergency healthcare system.The initiative aims to connect emergency patients across high-density urban corridors and remote areas directly to trauma care, without delays caused by urban traffic or the expense of traditional helicopter transfers, according to a statement issued here on Thursday.As part of the collaboration, Apollo has indicated its intent to explore placing orders for e200X air ambulances and Amber Wings’ medical delivery drones. The agreement also outlines the possibility of a future strategic investment by Apollo Hospitals Enterprise in ePlane, subject to mutually agreed terms, the statement added.Both parties intend to work with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and other relevant authorities to help bring this vision to life, alongside continued discussions on the infrastructure needed to support these operations.However, the value of the proposed investment and the size of the order book, including the number of aircraft and drones to be deployed, were not disclosed“India loses far too many lives simply because help cannot arrive in time.
