GHAZIABAD: A fire broke out in a flat on the 20th floor of a high-rise society in Indirapuram on Wednesday evening, officials said, adding that there was no loss of life.According to the fire department, the incident happened in Cloud-9 society, Ahinsa-Khand-2, Indirapuram. The flat owner’s name is Anurag.Rahul Pal, chief fire officer (CFO), said that around 5.18 pm on Wednesday, the fire department received information that a fire had broken out in a flat at Rishabh Cloud-9, Ahinsa Khand-2, Indirapuram.He said three fire tenders along with a hydraulic platform left for the spot.“On reaching the spot, it was found that the fire had broken out in flat number D-2001 in D-Tower of the society. The maintenance team present in the society was trying to extinguish the fire,” he added.“The fire service unit immediately reached the 20th floor with the help of the staircase and, taking prompt action, began firefighting operations by deploying hose lines through the fire system available in the society and the stairs. Due to the swift action of the fire unit, the fire was brought under control within a short time and was completely extinguished before it could spread to other flats,” he said.Initial investigation revealed that when the family members switched on the AC, a short circuit would happen and a fire broke out in AC first and later surrounded the room.A senior fire officer said that the society doesn’t have the fire NOC and a report on it has been submitted into the court as well.
