Samsung has confirmed Galaxy Unpacked in London for July 22, and India pre-reservations are already live. The official global invite shared by the South Korean giants hints at a new design: “A new shape unfolds” – suggesting that Samsung is getting ready to once again reshape what a smartphone can look like. The tagline clearly hints at a foldable smartphone that will look different from the ones launched in last several years, purportedly having a passport-size design instead of the tall stance. Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event date and livetreaming
The South Korean tech giant has confirmed that its next Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on July 22, in London, which Samsung says is “a city that moves forward, not by chasing trends, but by setting them.” The event, themed “A New Shape Unfolds”, will be streamed live on Samsung.com, Samsung Newsroom, and Samsung’s YouTube channel at 6:30 pm IST / 2 PM BST / 9 AM EDT.
Samsung may launch three foldable phones
The headline story this year may not just be the next Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip as it may be the arrival of an entirely new tier in Samsung’s foldable lineup. Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 8, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and, for the first time, a Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. If confirmed, the Ultra would mark Samsung’s most ambitious foldable yet, sitting above the standard Fold in the same way the Galaxy S Ultra sits above the rest of the S series.What can buyers expect from the Ultra? Leaks and rumours point to advanced display technology that has been designed to minimise the crease that has long been one of the most visible trade-offs of foldable screens. The Ultra version is also expected to sport a triple rear camera setup, faster charging and a more powerful SoC.For the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8, the focus appears to be on refinement. Both devices are expected to arrive with lighter builds, thinner hinges and improved crease management. The phone are also expected to be loaded with AI-driven multitasking features that integrate deeply with Samsung’s Galaxy AI ecosystem.
Beyond phones: Watches and smart glasses
Samsung may not stop at foldables. The July 22 event is also expected to see the unveiling of the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. Perhaps most intriguingly, Samsung is also tipped to showcase its long-anticipated Android XR smart glasses at Unpacked. However, they may be available to buy at a later stage.
India pre-reservations are already open
Samsung has moved quickly to build anticipation in India, opening pre-reservations for the upcoming foldables ahead of the global announcement. Customers can reserve the new devices by paying a refundable token amount of Rs 999, which means there is no financial risk if you change your mind after the launch. Pre-reservations can be made through Samsung.com, Samsung Exclusive Stores, Amazon.in, Flipkart.com, and leading retail outlets across the country.The incentive to reserve early is profitable: customers who pre-reserve will receive benefits worth Rs 2,799 upon purchasing the devices, a saving on what are likely to be premium-priced products. In the US, Samsung has similarly opened reservations, offering customers a $30 credit if they go on to complete a pre-order after the announcement.

Last year, Samsung launched the Fold starting at Rs 1,74,999, and Flip at a starting price of Rs 1,09,999. It is difficult to predict the prices given the recent increase in component prices. Reports have suggested that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is expected to start at Rs 1,99,990; the Galaxy Z Fold 8 may start at Rs 1,74,999; and the Galaxy Z Flip 8 may start at Rs 1,19,999.
