‘I’m going to wish you horror': Chinmayi Sripaada slams trolls over horrific death threats to her 3-year-old twins and Rahul Ravindran

Singer and dubbing artiste Chinmayi Sripaada has spoken out against the online abuse directed at her family after social media trolls allegedly targeted her husband, filmmaker-actor Rahul Ravindran, and their three-year-old twins. The backlash followed Rahul’s comments on the alleged murder case involving Ketan Agarwal and his fiancée Siya Goyal. While Rahul recently left X (formerly Twitter), Chinmayi has continued to address the issue through social media, condemning the abusive messages.

Chinmayi says trolls targeted her son

In a seven-minute video posted on Twitter (X), Chinmayi said Rahul Ravindran decided to leave the platform after coming across a post that wished death upon their son. She said, “Rahul’s tolerance hit a breaking point the moment he saw this particular tweet, which said he is going to pray for the death of my son. And he was calling more people to his bhajana mandali to wish for the death of my son. This was only because they were not able to control their emotions or their anger.” She also spoke about rape culture, misogyny, sexual harassment and increasing online hate, stating that bringing children into such attacks crossed all limits. She added, “If you ever abuse my children, I’m going to wish nothing but horror, a very long life, and a horrific life at that.”

Chinmayi shared screenshots as harassment continued

Chinmayi later shared screenshots of messages she claimed were sent by trolls targeting her family. In her post, she wrote that some Telugu social media users had wished death upon her children because they considered her “anti-feminist” and opposed women who spoke openly. She also said she and Rahul are parents to three-year-old twins and alleged that online groups continued to spread hatred against her children. Chinmayi further stated that those encouraging such behaviour should not be supported on social media.

Rahul Ravindran earlier announced his exit from Twitter (now X)

Rahul Ravindran had earlier announced that he was leaving X (previously Twitter) after reading abusive posts directed at his family. In his statement, he said the messages affected him deeply and made him realise it was time to step away from the platform. He also mentioned that he did not like the thoughts he had after reading the post targeting his child, and decided to delete the app from his phone. Chinmayi’s latest posts have since drawn widespread attention, with many social media users expressing support for the couple and condemning online abuse directed at children.
