Some destinations become favourites over time; others are woven into your life long before you begin travelling on your own. Goa falls into the latter category for Saiee M Manjrekar. With her family’s roots in the state and regular visits to the Mahalasa temple, the actress has returned to Goa year after year, building memories that go far beyond its beaches.Saiee shares, “The primary reason I keep going back to Goa is because my kuldevi, Mahalasa, is there, so we visit the temple quite often. I also have a lot of family in Goa. Over the years, I’ve kept returning for the warmth, the culture, the people, and most importantly, my family and my roots. That’s what keeps drawing me back.”
For Saiee M Manjrekar, Goa is a place of nostalgia rather than just a getaway. The actress often returns to the state to reconnect with her family and traditions, saying those visits have given her some of her most cherished memories over the years.
Food is another big part of her connection with the state. She says, “There are so many things I love about Goa, especially the food. I enjoy everything from comforting fish thalis to discovering charming cafés with great food. Most of my favourite memories of Goa are centred around food.”Just as every visit to Goa leaves her with a new memory, every project has shaped Saiee’s growth as an actress. “Every film is a learning experience. You meet new people, work with directors who have different creative visions, and collaborate with different actors. You take something away from each experience. I feel I’ve evolved a lot since my debut, and I credit that to the wonderful opportunities I’ve had and the people I’ve worked with.”As storytelling evolves, Saiee is eager to explore the OTT space. “OTT is offering a wide range of roles, and it’s definitely a space I’m excited to explore. I’ve always wanted to be part of a period drama or a romcom. I’d also love to share screen space with more women because there’s so much creative give and take in that dynamic,” she signs off.
