3 new volumes of Jain encyclopedia unveiled

Bengaluru: The fourth, fifth and sixth volumes of Arya Yug Vishay Kosh (encyclopaedia), dedicated to the subject of Arihant, were released Tuesday, marking a milestone in documenting Jain philosophy. The encyclopaedia is the result of more than 33 years of research, drawing from over 1,000 Jain Agamas, scriptures and religious texts to present ancient Indian wisdom in a contemporary format.The project was developed under the guidance of Jainacharya Shri Yugbhushansurishwarji (Pandit Maharaj Saheb), who said the objective of Arya Yug Encyclopaedia is to present knowledge in a manner that today’s youth can easily understand, appreciate and apply in their lives. “Ancient Indian wisdom contains solutions to many modern-day problems. Our effort is to make this knowledge relevant and accessible without compromising its original essence,” he said.P Krishna Bhat, former judge of Karnataka high court, appreciated the enormous scale and scholarly depth of the project. He said preserving such invaluable knowledge for future generations is of immense importance.
