SIR awareness drive for PwDs held at Aasha Kiran

Chandigarh: An awareness programme on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls was organised at the Vocational Training Centre, Aasha Kiran, Sector 46, with a special focus on persons with disabilities (PwDs).The session aimed to educate PwDs, caregivers and staff on the importance of accurate and updated electoral records. Participants were briefed on procedures, eligibility and the need for timely verification of voter details.To ensure inclusivity, a sign language interpreter facilitated communication for hearing-impaired participants, enabling them to engage effectively.Officials distributed informational pamphlets, interacted with attendees and addressed queries related to the SIR process. The campaign highlighted inclusive participation and reaffirmed efforts to ensure every eligible citizen, including PwDs, can exercise their democratic right.
