Hyderabad: The Telangana fire department on Tuesday booked a bar in Madhapur and a paying guest hostel in Kondapur under the Fire Services Act after inspections revealed that both lacked firefighting equipment.During inspections at the Sky100 Kitchen and Bar located on the seventh floor of Excello Building in Madhapur and Venkateshwara Coliving & PG Hostel at Marthanda Nagar in Kondapur, officials assessed the availability and functionality of firefighting systems, emergency exits, evacuation routes and other fire safety measures.“The inspection team found that the required equipment was not installed, raising concerns about preparedness in the event of a fire,” said district fire officer-I, Rangareddy, Khaja Kareemulla. Representatives of both establishments were instructed to immediately implement corrective measures and ensure strict compliance with fire safety regulations.Director general Vikram Singh Mann said the department was conducting regular inspections and awareness programmes across commercial establishments and residential accommodations to improve preparedness and reduce fire risks.
