Naidu urges action against misinformation, better grievance redressal
Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu asked officials to remain alert in handling situations involving fake campaigns and social tensions

Vijayawada: Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday said that attempts to politicise every incident by giving either caste or religious colour are on the rise. He said that some political parties in the state are repeatedly spreading misinformation with an aim to tarnish the image of govt and its machinery.Naidu asked officials to remain alert in handling situations involving fake campaigns and social tensions. He said incidents driven by substance abuse and mental stress were also being reported and required attention.Reviewing the functioning of various departments from the RTGS centre at the secretariat, Naidu directed officials to resolve grievances received through PGRS and other public platforms with a humane approach and asked them to improve responsiveness while dealing with citizens. He said officials should handle complainants courteously and focus on timely resolution by placing themselves in the position of applicants. He asked employees to adopt soft skills and improve administrative capacity.The chief minister said officials should encourage innovative thinking and added that responsibilities would be assigned based on performance. He stressed the need for field visits by ministers and officials to understand ground realities and take appropriate decisions. Referring to governance systems, Naidu said the use of technology has simplified file clearances and added that administrative processes should continue to evolve with changing requirements.On law enforcement, he said old cases were being traced, and offenders were getting punished. Naidu called for wider dissemination of information about the services being offered by the state govt in various departments. He also directed strict adherence to norms relating to vehicle number plates. The chief minister said that the quantum computer will be launched by Dec and announced that quantum and semiconductor parks will be established in the state.With the onset of monsoon, Naidu stressed the need to focus on green cover expansion, sanitation, water conservation, groundwater recharge and protection of water bodies, including prevention of river pollution. Chief secretary Sai Prasad, DGP Harish Kumar Gupta, and senior officials attended the review meeting.
