Daltonganj: Two persons have been arrested in connection with a firing incident in Rampur area in Palamu district two days ago, which left one dead and four injured, police said on Monday. The accused, identified as Brahmadeo Singh, 80, and Golu Singh, 28, both residents of Rampur, were remanded in judicial custody on Monday. The violence stemmed from a dispute over more than 17 acres of ‘gair majarua’ (fallow) land, contested for over three decades between two communities, administrative sources said.Tensions escalated on Saturday when Sakender Chowdhury started construction on a portion of the disputed land.
