Dhanbad Health Officials Scrutinized for Performance Gaps in Key Healthcare Services

Dhanbad: Deputy development commissioner (DDC) Sunny Raj pulled up medical officers in-charge (MOICs) over unsatisfactory works in institutional deliveries, first -trimester registration, no scalpel vasectomy (NSV), and other key indicators.Reviewing the functioning of the health department, the DDC directed MOICs to strategise micro-level planning to ensure quality healthcare services for people in their respective blocks. “Hold meetings with public representatives to generate awareness about facilities available at health centres. Also, inspect private hospitals and take strict action in case of irregularities,” he asked officials.Urging the MOICs to perform duties with dedication and face challenges with responsibility, he said, “Be prepared for action if you fail to show interest in work and public health programmes.”Civil surgeon Dr Alok Vishwakarma said, “MOICs should refer pregnant women in critical condition to the sadar hospital and submit monthly referral data to the civil surgeon’s office,” while adding, “A total of 33,496 patients received treatment at the sadar hospital in the past three months — 10,748 in February, 9,806 in March, and 12,942 in April.”The DDC assessed the performance of health centres in areas including institutional deliveries, malnutrition treatment centres, Rashtriya Bal Suraksha Karyakram, family planning, e-Sanjeevani, National Tobacco Control Programme, NUHM, Mother Teresa advanced health clinics, and Atal mohalla clinics.
