Confirming the arrest, Sonipat crime investigation agency (CIA) in-charge inspector Pawan Kumar said Mumbai police had contacted them for assistance in apprehending Amar. Subsequently, a joint team of Mumbai police and Sonipat CIA conducted an operation in Rohna and arrested Amar. Mumbai police later took him into custody for further investigation.Inspector Kumar said no previous criminal record had been found against Amar so far. According to the investigation, Rs 40,000 was transferred to Amar’s bank account through Kunal. Subsequently, Amar transferred Rs 12,000 to the bank account of Radha, a woman who had already been arrested in the case. However, Amar’s family maintains that he was unaware of the source of the money and the purpose behind the transactions.Amar’s uncle, Sandeep, said Kunal lived in their neighbourhood. According to him, Kunal had deposited the money into Amar’s account through a scanner. The family claimed it did not know where Kunal had sourced the money from. Sandeep said Amar had no idea that the money credited to his account could be linked to any criminal activity. The family has appealed to the government to secure Amar’s release, claiming that he is innocent.“My son is innocent and has never been involved in any criminal case before. I appeal to the government to ensure a fair investigation and secure his release at the earliest if he is found innocent,” Surender said.According to the family, Mumbai police took Amar from his home during the night. He was subsequently produced before a court in Kharkhoda the following morning. Amar’s lawyer, Sumit Dahiya, said he was produced before duty magistrate Sushma at the Kharkhoda court, where Mumbai police secured three days of transit remand.According to the lawyer, since the case was registered in Mumbai, further interrogation and legal proceedings would take place there. He also said allegations had emerged regarding Amar’s alleged role in supplying weapons. However, this allegation remains subject to verification through the investigation and court proceedings.Amar belongs to Rohna village, from where Kunal had been arrested earlier. The two are said to have been friends and neighbours.Amar has studied up to Class X and works at a supplement shop. Police will question him to establish why Kunal transferred Rs 40,000 to his account and what prompted him to transfer Rs 12,000 to Radha’s account.
