Actor Gaurav M Sharma, who is currently seen as Haider in Seher Hone Ko Hain, says that travelling is much more than visiting new destinations or taking a break from everyday life. He feels it is an opportunity to experience different cultures, meet people and gain experiences that enrich him both personally and professionally. From unforgettable road trips with his parents to his dream of exploring the mountains of Nepal, the actor shares his travel experiences, favourite destinations and the places he wishes to visit someday.“I am someone who loves to know the city, country or place I visit well,” says Gaurav. “Talking about my travel style, it begins with morning runs, afternoon adventures and ends with hopping from restaurant to restaurant at night. I am a nature lover but also a real admirer of different cultures and people.”One of his most cherished travel memories is a road trip he took with his parents across several Indian cities. “I took my parents on a road trip to different cities of India,” he recalls. “We went to Mahakumbh and covered places like Rajasthan, MP, UP, Delhi, etc. We had great family time, attended a wedding, attended Kumbh and tried different cuisines from different places. It was certainly a memorable holiday.”Travelling with family is special to Gaurav, but he also enjoys exploring destinations on his own. “I love road-tripping with my parents and I love travelling for work. I like travelling on my own too,” he says.Gaurav, who believes that every journey offers something to learn, explains how travel influences him as an actor. “It’s a great learning experience for an actor. You meet so many new people and are introduced to different cultures, languages and ethnicities,” he states. As for his travel essentials, the actor keeps it simple. “Running shoes, AirPods and gym wear,” he says, listing the three things he never leaves home without.Finland is one of the destinations on his bucket list and holds a special attraction for him. “I want to go to Santa Claus Village in Finland so badly. I really want to do the summits in Nepal, including Everest and Annapurna.”The actor recommends Benaras to anyone seeking peace, inspiration or a fresh outlook on life. “I think there is no better place on earth than Benaras for peace, perspective, inspiration and spiritual awakening. Probably one of the oldest places on Earth. At the ghats of Benaras, you can literally feel the beginning and the end at the same time,” he says.He concludes, “The teachings of great saints and the reality of this mortal body that we fall in love with.”
