Bhagyashri Borse’s recent choices have seen her explore contrasting characters — from a period role in Kaantha to a village girl in her latest release, Lenin. Continuing to explore diverse projects, she is currently shooting for Operation Ganga, an action thriller starring Mohanlal. Does she consciously seek out roles that allow her to explore different facets of her craft? She says she does, believing that an actor’s choices can help avoid being typecast.“Typecasting depends on how we choose our films and present ourselves,” she explains. “I’ve done a period film like Kaantha, I can be a cute village girl in Lenin, a serious doctor in Kingdom, or even a glamorous role. The audience is open and curious to see what you bring to the table. My aim is to explore a wide range of roles and continue growing as an actor. I’m not concerned about being typecast because I have confidence in my ability to tackle any character.”
