The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the private candidate examination forms for Class 10 and Class 12 for the 2026-27 session. Eligible candidates can now submit their forms online through the CBSE website.The application process for both Class 10 and Class 12 private candidates has started today, October 8, 2026. Candidates can submit the form without a late fee till October 23, 2026. The late fee window will be open from October 24 to October 30.The forms are meant for the examination to be held in February/March/April 2027 along with the Board’s main examinations 2027.

Who can apply for CBSE Class 10 private exam 2027?

According to the Class 10 notice, the form is open to certain categories of private candidates. These include students who were declared essential repeat in the 2026 examination, candidates placed in compartment in the 2026 examination, candidates declared fail or essential repeat in earlier examinations, and candidates who have passed the examination and want to appear for improving their performance in one or more subjects.The detailed eligibility conditions are given in the notice. For example, candidates placed in compartment in two subjects in 2026 have to select the category carefully while applying. The Class 10 and Class 12 notices both state that applications will be accepted only online and as per the given schedule. Applications submitted after the last date will not be accepted.

CBSE Class 10 private exam fee

For Class 10 candidates in India, the examination fee is ₹320 per subject. Candidates in Nepal have to pay ₹1,100 per subject, while candidates in other countries have to pay ₹2,200 per subject.Candidates submitting the form during the late fee period will have to pay an additional late fee of ₹2,000.

CBSE Class 12 private exam fee

For Class 12 candidates in India, the examination fee is ₹320 per subject. The fee is ₹1,100 per subject for candidates in Nepal and ₹2,200 per subject for candidates in other countries.For Class 12 practical subjects, an additional practical fee applies. The fee is ₹160 per practical subject for candidates in India, ₹174 per practical subject for candidates in Nepal and ₹375 per practical subject for candidates in other countries.A late fee of ₹2,000 per candidate will be charged during the late submission period.

How to apply for CBSE private exam 2027

Candidates need to submit the application form online through the CBSE website. The board has clearly stated that no offline application will be accepted.Candidates should first check their eligibility and then fill in the required details carefully. They will also have to upload their photograph and signature as per the instructions. The scanned JPG files of the photograph and signature should not exceed 40 KB.The examination fee has to be paid online through the payment methods allowed by CBSE. Candidates should use their own account or debit or credit card for payment and keep the payment details safely.

Important instructions for candidates

Candidates should submit only one application form. They must provide a working email ID for One-Time Password (OTP) verification. The board has also advised candidates to enter their roll number, school number and examination centre number correctly.The examination centre allotted to a candidate will be final. No request for a change of examination centre will be considered after allotment.
