'I knew they would stay': Sivakarthikeyan recalls when makers doubted his early fan following

Sivakarthikeyan’s bond with his fans has grown steadily over the years, and the actor recently recalled an incident from the early stage of his career to explain how strongly he believed in that connection. Speaking at a recent Sivakarthikeyan Narpani Iyakkam administrators’ meeting, he looked back at a time when even people in the film industry were unsure if his initial fan following would last. His speech has now drawn attention online, especially for the confidence he showed in his fans.

Sivakarthikeyan recalls producer questioning his early fan following

As reported by Cinema Vikatan, the actor remembered how a few fans once visited a shooting spot during his early days in cinema. “When I was still new to the industry, some fans came to see me at a shooting. After seeing them, a producer asked me, ‘Who are all these people?’ I proudly told him, ‘They are my fans,’” Sivakarthikeyan recalled. He said the producer was surprised that he already had people following him. The producer then suggested that such excitement was only part of the initial phase of an actor’s career and might not continue for long.

Sivakarthikeyan says he always believed his fans would stay with him

Sivakarthikeyan revealed that he did not agree with the producer’s view even at that stage. “I told him that these fans would not come only for a short period. I felt they would continue to support me. He advised me to focus on my work and not take the early craze too seriously,” the actor said. However, Sivakarthikeyan remained confident about the bond he was building with his audience. “I told him that when I looked at my fans, I did not feel that their support would disappear. I believed they would stay with me till the end,” he added.

Sivakarthikeyan Narpani Iyakkam meeting marks years of fan association

The actor connected that old conversation with the present-day strength of his fan organisation. He pointed out that more than 2,000 administrators attended the latest meeting, showing how far the association has grown. “That producer eventually asked me whether I would even remain in the industry for that long. Today, in 2026, we are here with more than 2,000 administrators,” Sivakarthikeyan said. He also stressed that the organisation was not created overnight. “Some people may think this is something we have suddenly started doing, but that is not true. We have been doing this for many years and have been holding this administrators’ meeting once every two years without fail,” he said. The speech offered a glimpse into why Sivakarthikeyan continues to place such importance on his long-standing relationship with his fans.On the movie front, Sivakarthikeyan was recently seen in ‘Parasakthi,’ and he is next working on ‘Seyon’ with Sivakumar Murugesan. The shooting of the rural drama is progressing well, and the film is announced to release for Pongal 2027.
