Kanpur: Flood conditions have worsened in Amritpur tehsil of Farrukhabad as water levels in the Ganga and Ramganga continue to rise. The Ramganga has crossed all previous records this season and is flowing 35 centimetres above the danger mark, affecting around 30 villages.Several link roads, including Amaiyapur Puliya, the Kadahar–Arjunpur link road, Bichpuri, and the Wazirpur link road, along with major routes such as Kola Sota, are submerged, cutting off village connectivity.Prolonged waterlogging has damaged sugarcane crops, while tili, fodder and maize crops are also at risk. Erosion has begun in Bichpuriya village due to the swollen Ramganga, adding to flood-related damage. The situation is also critical in Arjunpur, where floodwaters have inundated fields and the market, forcing vendors selling vegetables and daily essentials to shift their stalls to a road.
