Army marks 101st Raising Day of Military Nursing Service

DEHRADUN: Military Nursing Service (MNS) officers at the Military Hospital in Dehradun celebrated the service’s 101st Raising Day on Friday, commemorating more than a century of nursing care in the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS).According to the defence PRO, a series of events were organised as part of the celebrations. MNS officers visited the Raphael Centre, an institution caring for children with intellectual disabilities, on September 28 and interacted with the children.A tree plantation drive was held on September 29 as part of the service’s environmental conservation initiatives.The main ceremonial event was held on Thursday, when Brig R S Thapa, deputy GOC, Headquarters Uttarakhand Sub Area, extended greetings to MNS personnel and praised nursing officers for their contribution to providing healthcare to serving personnel, veterans, and their families.The celebrations highlighted the MNS’s core values of service, compassion, courage, commitment and professionalism, while recognising the contribution of generations of nursing officers to military healthcare.
