Rewari: A speeding truck allegedly rammed into a police SUV near Rao Abhay Singh Chowk on Delhi Road late Saturday night, injuring the police driver and badly damaging the vehicle. Karan, a police driver posted in Mahindra Bolero, was taken to a trauma centre with a neck injury and was later reported stable.The truck driver fled after the collision, but police recovered the vehicle and launched a search for him. Model Town police station SHO Inspector Manoj said a case had been registered and CCTV footage was being examined to identify and trace the driver.According to police, Karan was driving towards the police lines around 11pm when the truck, coming from the Prajapati Chowk side, collided with the Bolero near the chowk. The truck was allegedly travelling at high speed.“The driver has not been found yet. The vehicle has been recovered and is in our custody. A case has been registered against the driver and efforts are underway to trace him,” SHO Manoj said.
