Bhopal: A 21-year-old final-year graduation student was allegedly beaten by three youths in Govindpura on Friday evening. When his cousin arrived and confronted them, he was stabbed three times in the chest, police said.Pushpendra Yadav, a resident of Acharya Narendra Dev Nagar, was walking towards Agarwal Hotel in Purana Nagar when Arpit Shukla, Satyam and Sundaram stopped him and questioned him about allegedly hurling abuses. He denied doing so, but the three assaulted him with kicks and punches, police said.Pushpendra called his cousin Lokesh Yadav (28), who drives a CNG auto near Rani Kamlapati railway station. Lokesh reached the spot and asked the three why they had assaulted Pushpendra. Arpit and Satyam held him while Sundaram allegedly stabbed him three times in the chest, police said.The accused fled, and Pushpendra took Lokesh to hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. Acting on information from the hospital, Govindpura police registered a case of attempt to murder against the three and began searching for them. Police said Arpit was a habitual offender on the station’s surveillance list.
