Patna: RJD national working president Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Thursday attacked the govt over the alleged public harassment of a minor girl in Samastipur and the shooting of former PMC councillor Anil Yadav, demanding CM Samrat Choudhary’s resignation.Referring to both incidents, Tejashwi said murders, robberies, kidnappings and ransom cases were taking place regularly in Bihar and alleged women and minor girls were not safe.“Murders are happening daily in Bihar. Robberies, kidnappings and ransom incidents are taking place. Rapes are occurring against little girls and women. Law and order is in shambles and criminals are running amok,” he said.Tejashwi also criticised CM Samrat over his recent remarks on making social media reels in connection with the Jamui molestation case. He alleged the statement suggested criminals could escape if they did not make videos of their crimes.“If you are true to your words, resign,” Tejashwi said, questioning whether the govt would act against the accused or try to suppress such cases.Tejashwi also accused the govt of failing to check corruption at police stations and block offices and alleged the police machinery was preoccupied with enforcing prohibition. On the Samastipur incident, he alleged the govt could dismiss it as a “stray incident” instead of addressing the wider law-and-order problem. He questioned whether action would be taken against the accused irrespective of their caste. On Anil Yadav’s shooting, Tejashwi said the incident was a matter of concern and questioned the govt’s handling of law and order.
