Vijayawada: Chief ministers of six different states would be invited for the ensuing Dasara Navaratri festivities set to be celebrated from Oct 11 to Oct 20 at the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam (SDMSD) temple atop Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada.The chief ministers of the six states, all ruled by BJP-led NDA alliance parties, include Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav, West Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari, Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis and Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma.Accordingly, senior BJP leader and health minister Y Satya Kumar Yadav along with Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni) met Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati on Thursday and invited him to Dasara festivities at Durga temple in Vijayawada. They also extended the invitation to Himanta to take part in the second edition of “Vijayawada Utsav” set to be celebrated simultaneously during the Dasara festival.On the occasion, Satya Kumar Yadav said the decision to invite chief ministers of various states for the Dasara festivities at Durga temple follows chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s decision to invite them to witness the grand Dasara festival celebrations at the temple in Vijayawada.Satya Kumar Yadav said devotees from the length and breadth of the country visit Vijayawada to take part in Dasara festival celebrations at Durga temple and the participation of CMs of various states will add extra grandeur to the festival.
