Actress Ambika has responded to the cheque fraud complaint filed against her by her sister and actress Radha, strongly denying the allegations and presenting her version of the ongoing dispute. Radha had accused Ambika and their brother Mallikarjun of allegedly attempting to misuse five signed blank cheques kept at her residence to claim around Rs 49 crore. The complaint has now prompted an investigation by the Chennai Central Crime Branch amid an ongoing property dispute between the siblings.
Ambika claims Radha gave her cheques as part of a settlement
Speaking to reporters, Ambika rejected Radha’s allegations and claimed that her sister had voluntarily given her three cheques as part of a financial settlement related to their property dispute.“My sister filed a complaint against me a few days ago. The three cheques that Radha gave me for the money she had to pay me have bounced. Radha was the one who gave me the cheques to settle the property dispute, and she was also the one who stopped the payment,” Ambika said, as reported by Cinema Vikatan.She further questioned the basis of the complaint, adding, “If there was a case of cheque fraud, I should have been the one to file a complaint against Radha.”
Ambika makes claims over ARS Garden property and gold jewellery
Ambika also addressed the dispute surrounding ARS Garden in Porur and rejected claims that the property was gifted by former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor MGR.“It is wrong to say that ARS Garden was given by MGR. It was bought through our hard work,” she said.Ambika further claimed that she played a significant role in establishing the property and maintained that she would not agree to its sale.“I am the main foundation of ARS Garden. I will not sell ARS Garden, and I will not allow it to be sold,” she said.The actress also made allegations regarding her gold jewellery, claiming that Radha was in possession of a considerable amount of it. “My sister has a weakness for gold. She has a lot of my gold with her,” Ambika alleged.
Ambika says financial issues led to the sisters’ dispute
Reflecting on the complaint, Ambika said she was surprised by Radha’s decision to approach the authorities.“The complaint against me is amusing. I am also shocked that she has filed such a complaint,” she said.Ambika also spoke about the deterioration of the relationship between the sisters, suggesting that financial disagreements were at the centre of the dispute.“No matter how much a person gets, money is one thing they never feel is enough. My sister and I used to wear similar clothes and were very close. Money is the reason for the problem between sisters who were once united,” Ambika said.She reiterated that she believes she is entitled to money arising from the property settlement as well as a share in the ARS Garden partnership.“I have strong faith in God. God will help me,” she added.
Radha summoned by Chennai Crime Branch for September 24 inquiry
According to News18, the Chennai Central Crime Branch has summoned Radha to appear for an inquiry into the complaint she filed against Ambika. She has reportedly been asked to appear before the investigating officer at the Chennai Police Commissioner’s Office on September 24, along with documents supporting her allegations.The police are expected to record Radha’s detailed statement and examine the documents submitted in support of her complaint. Based on the inquiry and the material available to investigators, Ambika may subsequently be summoned for further questioning.
