And according to actress and comedian Sarah Silverman, she once encouraged her friend Kate Beckinsale to go for it.Silverman, who was friends with Beckinsale, said she wanted to live vicariously through the actress and hoped she would date Harry when he was still single.“I remember when Prince Harry was single, like, I would live vicariously through [Kate Beckinsale] and be like, ‘Oh, my God, date Prince Harry!…because, like, she could!’” Silverman told Us Weekly.

For Silverman, it wasn’t only about Kate’s looks.She described her friend as beautiful but also praised her intelligence and quick wit. In her words, Beckinsale has “a really big brain” and is “so quick”.At the time, Harry was still single and hadn’t yet met Meghan. Silverman’s comments were more of a friend’s playful matchmaking fantasy than evidence that Kate and Harry were actually romantically involved.And there was never a confirmed relationship between the two.
