Hisar: The Hisar Bar Association on Saturday submitted a charter of demands to Punjab and Haryana high court judge, Justice Rajesh Bhardwaj, seeking a permanent bench in Hisar. The demands were submitted during Justice Bhardwaj’s visit to the district court complex. Justice Bhardwaj is also the administrative judge of Hisar divisionBar president Pradeep Singh Bajia presented the charter, which also sought regional benches of various tribunals and commissions in Hisar, multilevel parking for advocates, and approval for 85 additional lawyers’ chambers. The bar also sought expansion of the bar room and shifting of the judicial lock-up inside a secured boundary wall.Other demands included toll exemption for advocates and upgrading the district court dispensary into a primary health centre with a regular medical officer. Justice Bhardwaj heard the demands and assured the bar of necessary action for their resolution. Referring to Hisar’s judicial heritage, he said the district had a long history, and that meeting members of the bar gave him a sense of familiarity. He said efforts would continue to strengthen the relationship between the bar and the bench.
