NEW DELHI: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday questioned the absence of former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and his family members from the Delhi voter list and sought an explanation from the Election Commission.In a post on X, the party said, “Is everything happening in this country just to keep the Supreme Lord happy? @ECISVEEP, how is it possible that the names of three-time Delhi Chief Minister @ArvindKejriwal Ji and his family members are missing from the Delhi voter list?”Kejriwal and four members of his family have been reportedly served notices by the Delhi Election Commission as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.Notices have also been reportedly issued to Kejriwal, his wife Sunita Kejriwal, father Gobind Ram Kejriwal and mother Gita Devi as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. His son, Pulkit Kejriwal, has also been served a notice under the same category.All five notices have been issued under the “Unmapped with Last SIR” category, as per the post.The notices come amid the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 exercise being conducted by the Delhi Election Commission. Nearly 47.6 lakh names were removed from Delhi’s draft electoral roll published on August 31, but only a fraction of those affected have so far submitted Form 6 seeking re-inclusion.The window for filing claims and objections against the draft roll will remain open until September 30.The draft electoral roll contains 97.5 lakh electors, compared with 1.45 crore registered voters in Delhi when the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise began in June.Data showed that 62,583 Form 6 applications, including those from first-time voters seeking inclusion, had been submitted by September 15. The number rose to 68,043 by September 16.The 47.6 lakh electors excluded from Delhi’s draft electoral roll have been categorised as Absent, Shifted, Dead, Duplicate and Others following the house-to-house verification exercise. Around 43.3 lakh were marked as absent or shifted, while about 2.8 lakh were categorised as dead and 1.4 lakh as duplicate entries.
