Hisar: A 65-year-old former sarpanch of Kharia village was allegedly killed by his son during a family dispute at his Chandan Nagar home around 2am, police said. Hawa Singh Sihag was allegedly hit on the head with an iron rod during a confrontation with Bablu.The family took the body to Kharia and reportedly described the death as natural. Relatives preparing for the cremation later spotted injury marks and stopped it before informing police.Balasmand police took the body into custody and sent it for postmortem. Preliminary inquiry suggests Hawa Singh had been living separately from his wife and two sons amid a dispute over around eight acres of land in Kharia and a house in Chandan Nagar. Sources said arguments had intensified over his alleged plan to sell the house.Police are also probing injuries suffered by Bablu, who reportedly went to a private hospital after the altercation.
