The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered an FIR into the death of Disha Salian, who was the former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The development comes after the Bombay High Court directed the agency to conduct a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.Salian was found dead on June 8, 2020, at a time when she was working as a celebrity manager. Her death came just days before Rajput was found dead at his Bandra residence in Mumbai. The case had initially been registered as an Accidental Death Report (ADR).The Bombay High Court had recently directed the CBI to register an FIR and investigate the case. During an earlier hearing, a Division Bench comprising Justice Bharti Dangre and Justice Manjusha Deshpande questioned why only an ADR had been registered despite Salian’s family alleging that she had been murdered.The court also took note of the fact that Salian’s family had not been given copies of her post-mortem report and the ADR, even five years after her death.Salian’s father, Satish Salian, had earlier said that he had shared details of the circumstances surrounding his daughter’s death with the investigating authorities. He also expressed confidence that the probe would begin shortly.Satish said he had provided investigators with the information he had about the events leading up to his daughter’s death and named several people whom he wanted the authorities to question.“I stated the facts exactly as they were; I told them everything that happened to my daughter. I listed all the names: Aditya, Sooraj Pancholi, Dino Morea, and the bodyguards. They noted everything down. They said they would take action based on what I told them; the proceedings would begin in a few days,” he told ANI.“The truth cannot be defeated. God stands where the truth is; that is why justice will be served,” he added.The CBI’s move has also been welcomed by Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister Shweta Singh Kirti, who recently spoke about the investigation and expressed hope that the truth would emerge.In a video shared on social media, Shweta said, “Truth has its own power… it can be suppressed for some time, troubled, but it cannot be defeated.”She also welcomed the CBI inquiry into Salian’s death, saying the development had renewed hope among many of Rajput’s followers.
