Singer-songwriter Anuv Jain is all set to take the stage at Lollapalooza for the first time this year, and the moment, he says, is landing at a particularly meaningful point in his career. Reflecting on his journey so far, Anuv, in an exclusive chat, recalled the personal moments his music has quietly become part of.“I’ve seen people propose to their partners at my concerts and start a new chapter of their lives, and being a small part of moments like that is something I’ve always felt very grateful for,” he said. “It’s genuinely a very surreal and proud feeling for me.” He was quick to credit those who’ve stood by him through the years. “My fans, my family, everyone who has been there through this journey has played a part in getting me here,” he said. “And now, performing at Lollapalooza India for the first time, with a completely different scale and energy, and such incredible artists, is honestly something I’m still taking in.” For Anuv, the timing makes the occasion even sweeter. Fresh off the biggest international tours of his career, he sees the Lollapalooza slot as a milestone that ties his journey together. “This is such a special moment for me because it comes at a very exciting point in my journey,” he said. “Lolla is a global festival that has brought together some of the most incredible artists and sounds from across the world, and to be a part of that ecosystem, sharing the stage with such phenomenal artistes from around the globe, is genuinely surreal.” He also spoke about what the moment represents for Indian independent music at large. “It also feels like a beautiful reflection of how far Indian independent music has travelled,” he said. “To be able to take my music to international audiences through my tours and then come back home and perform on a stage that celebrates music on such a global scale is a full-circle moment.” Anuv added that it’s the festival’s spirit of bringing people together that excites him most. “Lollapalooza has this incredible energy of bringing different cultures, sounds and audiences together, and I’m really excited to be a part of that experience with the amazing audience that will be a part of this,” he said. “It’s definitely one of those milestones that I’ll look back on with a lot of gratitude.”
