NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held bilateral talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday, reiterating that dialogue and diplomacy are the way forward to resolving conflicts.Putin is in New Delhi to attend 18th Brics Summit on September 12-13.During the meeting, PM Modi also said India stood ready to assist in peace efforts to end the Ukraine conflict, according to the Ministry of External Affairs.“PM reiterated that dialogue and diplomacy remain the way forward in resolving conflicts and India stands ready to assist in peace efforts,” the MEA said.PM Modi and Putin held wide-ranging discussions on various aspects of the India-Russia “Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership”.The two leaders reviewed progress in bilateral cooperation in key sectors, including trade, energy, defence, space and people-to-people ties, which remain focus areas of the India-Russia partnership.They also exchanged views on issues of mutual interest in the regional and global sphere, including conflicts in West Asia and the Black Sea region, Jaiswal said.
