SSC CPO 2026: Who can apply?
For the Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Sub-Inspector (GD) in CAPFs, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification.The educational requirement is different for the Sub-Inspector (Fire) post in CISF. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects. Candidates meeting the specified engineering diploma requirements may also be eligible, subject to the conditions prescribed in the notification.The age criteria also vary across the posts.For all posts other than SI (Fire) in CISF, the prescribed age limit is 20 to 25 years as on August 1, 2026. For SI (Fire) in CISF, candidates must be between 18 and 30 years of age. Candidates belonging to eligible reserved categories and other specified groups will receive relaxation in the upper age limit as per government rules.There is an additional requirement for male candidates applying for the Sub-Inspector post in Delhi Police. They must possess a valid driving licence for a Light Motor Vehicle, covering motorcycle and car, on the date of the Physical Endurance and Measurement Tests.
SSC CPO 2026 selection process
The SSC CPO recruitment process will be conducted in multiple stages. Candidates will first appear for Paper-I, followed by the Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Endurance Test (PET). Those who qualify the required stages will proceed to Paper-II, followed by the Detailed Medical Examination.Paper-I will consist of 100 questions carrying 200 marks. Paper-II will contain 200 questions carrying 200 marks.
