From ancient Gurukuls to AI frontiers: CM Yogi unveils education blueprint for UP's youth
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the importance of blending traditional education methods with modern technology and skill development.

LUCKNOW: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has written a letter to the people of Uttar Pradesh on the occasion of Teacher’s Day and ahead of International Literacy Day, stressing the need to combine traditional education with modern technology and skills.In his letter, Yogi said teachers are “the lamps who spread the light of knowledge” and play a key role in shaping future generations. He said the government had honoured 81 teachers on September 5 for their contribution to nation-building.Yogi said education should go beyond reading and writing and equip children with knowledge, values, discipline, self-confidence and an understanding that gives the right direction to their lives. Referring to the ancient Gurukul tradition, he said holistic education should remain the foundation of the modern education system.The chief minister said rapid technological changes had made AI literacy as important as digital literacy. He said AI, deep-tech and emerging technologies were opening opportunities in education, healthcare, agriculture, industry and employment. He added that the AI City in Lucknow and the developing drone and UAV technology ecosystem in Kanpur were laying the foundation for new technological possibilities in Uttar Pradesh.Yogi highlighted Operation Kayakalp, Mission Prerna, Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Yojana and skill development programmes, saying the state government had focused on improving education quality and school facilities, preparing students for competitive examinations and developing youth skills.He said these efforts had helped achieve significant success in minimising the school dropout rate across the state, with more children joining the mainstream of education.Calling teachers the most important link in the education journey, Yogi said they instil values, curiosity, discipline, self-confidence and a sense of responsibility among students while connecting India’s knowledge tradition with modern knowledge and innovation.
